How is Your Footwear Made?
01.
Design & Pattern Making
The start of any set of footwear begins with careful pattern making and selection of high quality materials. Each pair is made to your specifications and can be adjusted to suit your needs.
02.
Cut & Assemble the Leather Upper
With the various pieces of the pattern cut out of the selected hide, they are now skived and assembled precisely by hand on a post-bed sewing machine. The back seam of the boot is hand sewn with a double whip stitch.

03.
Lasting
This is the process of wrapping and tacking the upper around the last to create the boot's shape. A 'last' is the wooden or plastic mould in the shape of a foot which the boot is made around. At this point, the boots have taken their form and are ready to have bottoms added.
04.
Bottoming
Soles are attached with an outsole stitcher using various traditional methods depending on the desired function of the footwear.
Welted, stitchdown, and naildown constructions provide durable options and are designed to be resoled.
05.
Finishing
Once the soles are attached, the excess is trimmed and the final edge is burnished for water resistance and a polished look.
